Help to Buy Scheme

    Hi,

I applied online last week for the Help to Buy Scheme, only got my P60 last week. I was wondering around how long it is taking revenue to confirm the amount of the rebate you are entitled to? I can't get my full mortgage approval until I can show that revenue has confirmed how much I'll get back.

    Thanks

    Same boat as you

Revenue told me 2-3 days once the application goes through. HTB has a priority they said

Mine is stuck because my wife is not confirmed in the group. For my wife, I'm not confirmed in the group. Revenue looking into it

Thanks, mine just got sorted today. They said it was because they thought I was owed tax back from 2016 but weren't sure and needed someone in higher management to make a decision. I rang a few times, the last person I spoke to said it's helpful to submit your question through my enquiries as well as the phone call because it flags it twice or something... Hope yours gets sorted soon!

    Hi Lorraine,

When you applied, did you have the option to select which year to use towards your 5% rebate?
My application was not yet submitted as my wife does not have a "myaccount" password, she did the request but she did not receive the letter with the password as yet...
Also, what do you mean by sorted? You applied and got the codes that the builder and the banks can check to see how much you are entitled?

    Thanks

    Leo

You can select your years. It's 4 years of the last 5 (per person)

Big holdup for me was 2016 P60 but you should be sorted as they're out by now. You can start the application and add your wife to the group with her PPS and then she can confirm group membership afterwards

I got mine sorted as in it told me how much I could get (max) and gave me codes that I've given to the EA to confirm

That's enough that our contracts only hold us liable for 5%

Your end of year payslip should contain your P60 figures.

Hi I'm a builder building new homes for clients on their own land. I have a client that seems to think I need to be registered so he can claim the help to buy scheme payment. I tell him it's his solicitor that needs to be registered so he can process payment, not me as I'm not selling him the house I'm only building it. He's technically a self build. It's developers that need to register. Am I correct in this as from my research this seems to be the case.

Yeah your right. We are building a once off as well and it's the solicitor that needs to register to be an approver for their clients claim for the help to buy scheme. The solicitor needs to approve their claim on the revenue system. Your clients need to ask their own solicitor to register, nothing to do with builder.let them know it can take up to 25 working days for the solicitor to become approved on revenue.ie.

you might be able to help me with a question I have. What is deemed to be a contract with the builder for the scheme?? Does it have to be the royal institute of the architects of Ireland contract? If so if builder has signed who usually does the second signing?the architect Or do you need a solicitor to sign?

    Hi All,

Does anyone know what is considered "the contract with your builder" as per the help to buy scheme? does this have to be the RIAI one? it would be great to find out from someone who has already applied.

    Thanks a mill

    Hi Everyone,

Just wondering my husband & I jointly applied for the HTB scheme & we have the same application number on revenue.ie but we got different amounts for the max relief available, does anyone know are these amounts added together & capped at e.g 20k?

Any advice appreciated as I have phoned revenue several times & gotten different information each time.

    Thanks
