I understand a meeting after proceedings are issued might be geared towards a  settlement, but what if the meeting is  early on?

Not quite sure of the question being asked. No legal advice allowed. Just a few general observations.

You do not settle unless you are ready.

Best to wait until symptoms are nearly resolved. However, if there is pain and injury in to the future and the offer is good a prompt settlement may be sensible.

Whilst you should rely on the advice of solicitor and counsel you are actually the one to make the final decision.
