How many GAA Season Ticket Holders are there?

    Hi All,

A query came up on the '2017 Season Ticket' Thread and from it I have the following questions,

Can anyone give a definite breakdown of Football GAA Season Ticket holders for each county.

Considering that the only Two Counties in the Country which completely sold out there allocations of Season Tickets met in last year’s Final and according to the GAA’s Annual report their combined allocation for the Final was 3,133, my thinking is that 2,000 Season Tickets are allocated to each County and allowing for this it means that an average of circa 21.5% of holders didn’t attend enough games to qualify for the Final last year. If this is correct it works out that max circa 5%/4,000 approx of Croke Park goes to Season Ticket holders.

I’m also thinking that Dublin's Parnell Passes come directly out of the DCB’s allocation?

I sent the following email to 'seasonticket@gaa.ie'
    A Chara,

A query has just come up on Boards.ie regarding GAA Season Tickets & as a result of this I’m contacting you to see if you can clarify it.

Can you please confirm the number of Football Season Ticket holders each County has & the maximum each County is allowed.

Reply from the GAA Season Ticket office, you have to ask why they are being so secretive, why can they not release this Data, what have they to hide?
    Hi Xxxxxx,

    Thank you for your email.

We won't be publishing that type of data on an unregulated public forum.

We deal with Season Ticket queries in relation to individual accounts when contacted by the account owner.

    Kind regards,

    Xxxxxxx

The biggest farce is that the you can apply for a a club all Ireland ticket even though you have a season ticket. You therefore could have 2 all Ireland tickets. Data protection rules prevent the county boards or clubs accessing the season ticket holders.

Not surprising really, suppose they have competitive advantage to "hide". If it came out that some teams weren't that close to selling out people are unlikely to buy tickets. Fairly standard business process.

We all already know that the only two counties that have reached there full allocation are Mayo and Dublin, however we do not know what this allocation actually is.

There are about 3,700 season tickets in Mayo, between Croke Park, 2,500 and Cairde about 1,200. Dublins allocation between all their different schemes is about 7,500 I think, but not sure. Croke park lower and upper Cusack, hill 16 and the parnell pass.

Someone here had a breakdown on season tickets sold per county and code, but that was a few years ago, 2010/11?
