Wall Vent

I have an Issue with a rented house, they won't open windows and I don't think too keen on heat either !!!
anyway there is black mold on the ceiling along the external walls in all of the 3 bedroom.

I lived there for 15 years with no problems so I'm thinking of putting in wall vents. The two bedroom to the front of the house are North Facing I was thinking of renting a drill with a 4 Inch bit putting in a plastic pipe with a vent on each side on all 3 of the bedrooms bit it might be a bit too cold as the house in North facing. I could put the vent in and put a bit of steel wool or something to slow the air coming through the vent.

I was looking at a wall vent kit it comes with a fan in the middle of the pipe and the external vent is not as open as a standard vent.

Are the kits any good or just a waist of money or just go with the simple option of a standard wall vent.

Every room should have an air vent. The problem with vents in rented properties are the tenants tend to block them up. Some unscrew them, shove an old t-shirt in & screw them back up.
You'll find that they are drying clothes on radiators too.

I'd go with just a normal vent with cover that can't be closed.
Maybe get a price off someone to come the holes for you instead if hiring a big drill. They aren't too expensive now for the work thats in it if you aren't used to that type of thing

I looked at "positive input ventilation" it too expensive compared to the standard wall vent.

If there was too much are flow in the wall vents could I put a bit of steel wool etc something just to slow up the flow of Air ?

Steel wool would turn into a nasty rusted lump.

Does it matter where I put the vent ? does it have to be as far away from the Door as possible to get full ventilation or does it matter.

I was going to put them as far into far corner as possible to keep out of your line of sight.

Defo price up a rental for comparison, you might get a major shock.

Also be aware, core drill from inside may break out a hugely visible lump of the outside wall covering...
