Hi, Looking at buying a 2015 skoda superb elegance from the UK. There will be 12 months warrenty left on most of the cars I am looking at. Has anyone transfered a warrenty before or know whats involved.

Far as I know, the first 2 years are manufacturers warranty and the 3rd year is backed by the dealer network, it may not be transferreable.

The above is the case alright, the first 24 months are valid anywhere in Europe and is verified by chassis number so no need to transfer anything, anything after the 24 months is only valid in the UK.

You would have to get the car to a dealer in the North for warranty work in the 3rd year.

They warrant the car, not the plates.

Worked for me with a VW a few years ago. You could always contact Skoda UK and ask them.

Manufacturers usually run off the VIN number.
I brought my Honda 2016 import up North for a major service free of charge as the car had a service plan without issue, they ran everything through the VIN number. Don't forget a lot of people in the UK like personalised plates so the plates are largely irrelevant as they obviously change, VIN numbers are constant.
