I'm surprised BBC still hasn't put BBC News on the Irish Sky epg. surely there is little to no copyright issues involved with this?

Sky will have to pay them just like how they already do for the BBC channels on the Irish EPG.

Since Sky News HD is sub only they wont be in a hurry to give away competitors service.

there are lots of other news channels on Sky such as RT, France24, Euronews, CNN, Fox News etc. Why would BBC News be seen as such a threat.

All of those channels pay to be on the Sky EPG. Sky cannot refuse them.

Amazing that people are playing a massive whack of cash to Sky for SD only channels from the BBC in 2017.
