Toyota Avensis 2006 radio problem

    Hi guys

Just wondering if anyone can help with a problem i'm having with my car stereo. I just bought a 2006 toyota avensis with stock radio/cdplayer.

I pressed the mode button on the steering wheel to change from radio to cd and now it keeps just randomly changing between cd/radio every few seconds.

    Any info would be great.

    Thanks

Disconnect power from radio for a few minutes. If after reconnect the problem still persists then most likely mode switch on steering is trapped.

Thanks for the reply. Its working normally for maybe a few hours and then it will act up intermittently and start switching between modes. Any idea how to disconnect the steering wheel controls. Thanks for ur help

There's a multi plug on the back of the stereo. It's a big one but there's only 4 or 5 wires in it (assuming yours is the facelift with no tape deck) it also does some other functions like auto volume but AFAIK just plugging it out won't affect the radio working. Maybe iamthemanwork can confirm.
