How popular is Balls.ie down South? Is it a satire site?

I'm mainly on American sites and came across this article being laughed at and noticed the .ie domain it was hosted on.
Apparently the guy who wrote this article is a co-founder of the website.
I mean this can't be serious, can it?
https://www.balls.ie/american-sports/thanks-donald-trump-can-no-longer-support-new-england-patriots-358217
About why a lifelong New England Patriots fan can no longer support them:
The two best known figures in their organisation are on Trump’s side. Which implicitly means they are on the side of white nationalism, fascism 2.0 and the hordes of goons trying to bring the world back to 1933.

This is moral cowardice of the highest order and in light of the events of the first two weeks of the Trump presidency, I can no longer support this quarterback or his coach on Super Bowl Sunday.

But I can’t do it. Every time I see Tom Brady, I picture a tawdry made-in-Vietnam ‘Make America Great Again’ hat on his perfectly-proportioned head. Every time I hear Bill Belichick muttering empty platitudes about the quality of his opponent, I imagine him sitting down with pen and paper over a blank sheet of paper, his heart swelling, as he considers which words of inspiration to send his future commander-in-chief.

But could you actually be friends with a friend of Donald Trump? Could you look that person in the eye and make jokes and banter knowing the conversations he has had with Trump? That his hand has shook the tiny, reptilian Trumphands?

But Trump stood for the Party which opposed slavery and fought to have it abolished.

Now the man is not perfect either, he once supported the Dems and his Klan Rally attending father Fred was once a member of the Democratic Party.

The Klan was formed and dominated by Dem members. Politicians, from Congressmen, Senators to the actual office of President.

They still do this today, the Dems practice what is is known as the Bigotry of Low Expectations. They don't hold minorities to the same standard as White people, they use them for votes and keep them reliant. Every sh1thole city in the US such as Chicago and Detroit have majority Dem Councils.

It's just disgusting and most people will not acknowledge it. Listen to a black man like Thomas Sowell speak about the modern day Democratic Party. They're not the good guys, they're exactly the opposite.

I find most Irish people support them because of the piece of sh1t Kennedy Family. The most corrupt and disgusting family in the history of America.

It's a clickbait site.

That report is vile. I hope Karma hits them right in the prostate.

Tom Brady and Robert Kraft are two of the classiest people in sport. They do not need vile people like the amateur that wrote that article as a "fan". More of liability than a fan.

Ach, it's Balls.ie. It exists because Facebook does, it appeals to the social media slacktivists who love to advertise their concern for the homeless, gym routines, paleo diets, and hate Trump but don't really understand why. I mean, seeing some of the stuff on Facebook is making me almost warm to the man.

I think it was "lovin Dublin", another clickbait site that called him a "nut job" for criticising Fidel Castro after his death. Being Anti-Trump seems to be business stance with some.

The answer was (b):

Lord Kitchener.

Bonus points would have been given for:

Ford Cortina

Submarines

Spanish resistance movement during the Peninsular War

I really wish there was software that would allow me to avoid any mention of Trump or US politics in general. Across the entire Internet.

Sick to my bollocks of the lot of it at this stage.

Great in theory but not so good when he launches a nuclear warhead towards Borris in Ossery

I'm kinda sick of people latching on to it like a fad.

I don't like him. I don't like decisions he's made but that's democracy. He won the election. He's doing what he said he'd do.

I wouldn't worry about a website that makes balls of things.

It's an awful site, from starting articles with "this is gold", to trawling twitter for tweets and they then "write" an article that has a screenshot of said tweet and 50% of the content is just the tweet in text form again.

That was 150 years ago so has zero relevance to anything.

People in this country don't support the democrats because they aren't a political party in this country and we can't vote for them.

Why people get so hepped up about American politics in this country I'll never know.

The author Donny Mahony is one of the most incompetent journalists and radio broadcasters I have ever read or heard. I think even his pals on off the ball, which got him the gig in the first place, have given him the chop.

It's a complete mystery as to how balls.ie exists or generates revenue, I have never heard anyone mention it ever in conversation about anything.

They sometimes have interesting stuff but they tend to publish some right nonsense every now and then.

I remember one article they posted which was basically an attack on the LOI which had little to no understanding of reality. I, and many others, wrote responses pointing out their ignorance and they just deleted the link but kept the article on its site, no apology, no further mention of it, nothing.
