If that's for clutch and flywheel supply and fit then it's about the going rate.

No its an indy. Not sure if the flywheel is included george. Seem a bit steep though, though I recogbise theres the
    labour involved

It should include the flywheel for that sort of money. OP you think it is a bit steep, what are you basing that on?

Price all depends on what brand clutch and flywheel is used.

Sounds about right with dual mass fly wheel..luk or sachs kits would be the best available in think..

How much would you guys recommend for just the clutch? There was no mention of flywheel in the conversation. Would I be better off buying one myself off micksgararage etc or finding a scrapyard or perhaps sourcing a refurbished one etc

If its the first change on an 09 Passat, just do the flywheel as well. You'll regret not.

Might as well change the flywheel at the same time as the clutch if you're already doing the job. It will save you in labour costs at a later stage as the gearbox has to come out afaik. You could end up spending similar money in labour soon after if the flywheel then needed changing.

No with a clutch and flywheel buying new is the only way to go.
