    Hi All,

I have a 15 seat '03 Ford Transit that was working commercially until Winter last year.

I have had some rust treatment done over the winter , a new fly wheel and now I only need the seatbelt cert before sending it in for the CVRT.

Ideally I would like to trade or swap this vehicle for a 9 seat diesel and I am wondering what is the best way to go about this ?

do I sell privately, do I trade or look for a straight swap ? all opinions welcome.

lastly, it would be a big win if the seats in the back were both comfortable and faced each other, is there any like this that don't use fold down seats ?

Any advice on Make /Models that would fit the profile would be appreciated.

The vehicle will be used for a 2.5 hour motorway commute.

    Thanks in advance,
    Fionn

You would have to see what sort of money is being asked privately for similar type minibuses. This will give you an idea what to ask for it but selling privately can be both time consuming and patience testing as you're dealing with tyre kickers and chancers. Go see what kind of cost to trade up prices you are getting and make a choice then if it's worth trying to sell it yourself or just take the hit on the trade-in and be done with it.

As to what to replace it with, have a look at another but smaller Transit, the VW Transporter/Shuttle/Caravelle and the Mercedes Sprinter/V Class/Viano, etc which are all available with various number of seats. Just watch out for rust especially on the Mercedes.

    thanks for the reply Bazz26,

I wasn't sure if all makes and models have different seat configs.

I'll prince the private route and see how that compares with trade-in , makes sense really.

I thought with the glut of 10 year old taxi's that might allow me to trade up a few years.

    desicions decisions,

    appreciate the advice,
    Cheers,
