    Hi,

I got an e-mail from my employer with subject: BIK statement for 2016

    Says this:

Please see below, the value of the Insurances which were processed through your 2016 monthly salary payments as Benefits in Kind (BIK). These are the values on which you paid payroll taxes.

then it has a list, most items on this list are at 0, but it has a figure for

    1) Dependent Medical BIK
    2) Employee Medical BIK

You are going to have to pardon me, my knowledge of BIK is non existent.

    What does this letter mean?
Does it allow me to claim back something or the opposite?

You have health insurance or something like that through work. They paid taxes on that from your wages. It is probably an informational thing.

Yep. I have health insurance through work. I've never got a mail like this before and am with the same company and medical insurer for the past few years.

It's probably a case of someone complaining about their bik tax and everyone getting a statement.
