i recently logged in to BOI online and it is saying the account is temp dormant .

Please call 0035314044000 and give customer care your account number to check .
IF so you may need to reopen a new account with new account number etc...

    Hi kelledy,

Thanks for getting in touch with us here on Boards.

If you have not made a debit transaction on your account within the last 3 years (and less than 15) your account will now be 'inactive'.

You can reinstate the inactive account through your account holding Branch. Just to mention, the inactive account can accept credits but no debits will be allowed on the account until it's been reinstated.

As you are in the UK, you will need to post some documentation to your account holding Branch. They will require a certified copy of photo ID (either passport or driving licence) and a recent proof of address. If you would like to use a UK address, we will require 2 proof of addresses and for an ROI address your Branch will require just 1.

If you are unable to send an original proof of address please have the copies certified.

Please attach a cover letter with your documents requesting the account to be reinstated. Please include account details, signature and a contact number.

We hope the information helps and here is our Branch Locator, this will give you contact and address details for your Branch.

If you have further questions please feel free to get back in touch.

    Many Thanks
    Alison

    You're welcome kelledy.

You can call into a ROI Branch with your photo ID and recent proof of address to reinstate the account. We would first suggest to arrange an appointment with the Branch of your choice  here

You can transfer funds into the inactive account, as there's a block to debits you will be unable to take from the account until it's been reinstated.

Hope this helps, come back to us if you need to,

    Many Thanks
    Alison
