having spent a small fortune over the last few years on physios, knee/ shoulder probs, you are right to do your homework, prices are increasing and the one I used till december had gone up to 75 euros. This is purely my opinion and somebody more qualified may correct me, but the abbreviations you indicate basically mean the individual is a qualified physio who have done their masters and have a certificate in manual therapy, which I believe would be fairly standard for most physio's these days. On the whole my experience with physio's have been positive but unless you are recovering from a fully diagnosed injury or post surgery, you are paying for a physio's opinion on your symptoms.

Bsc hons means bachelor of science (honours) degree. Msc is master of science degree.

It depends what your problem is really, physio works over time though it's not a diagnosis and away you go. It's worth a try but don't expect miracles.

Can you check which university the qualifications originated from? It should say in brackets after the degree, ie,

NUI (for UCD, UCG, UCC, Maynooth)
    Dubl (for Trinity)
UL and DCU (formerly NIHE (L) and NIHE (Dublin)
Belf or QUB (Queen's University Belfast)

He should have his degree certificate on his wall, so you can check the status of the college he attended. If the degree cert looks like a bumper sticker, be cautious, but the governing body would be very strict on the type of degrees they allow to be registered as a Physiotherapist, as they have to be validated.

Check the list of chartered physiotherapists, it's available online.

It depends whats causing your pain but do be aware a physio is definitely going to tell you to exercise and give you a list of exercises to do.

Who would give me a diagnosis then I just need to know even if I have it for life I wouldn't care as long as I'm told if you get what I'm saying ,it's just so frustrating for me

That's not something a stranger online can help you with really as we don't know your issues and can't give medical advice anyway.

You'd need to go back to a doctor and insist they investigate further or refer you to specialists, maybe a different gp might be better.

Edit to ask why you don't want to exercise if you've been told it'll help?
Also self medicating can be dangerous as you don't know what damage it could be causing. I hope it's only otc meds and not other people's prescription drugs.

Thanks ,it's just cbd oil instead of the prescribed painkillers with some neurifen

It certainly sounds frustrating for you and I suppose I'm 'lucky' in so far the MRI clearly showed up what the problem was. Dont know if you are referring to your gp telling you to exercise or a consultant, but sounds like if you have been referred to a decent physio who specializes in the area of the body where you have your pain then maybe give it a shot. I have had physio in Santry sports clinic and most of their SENIOR physio's specialize in different area's/joint. Other than that as other's have said maybe go to a different gp for a second opinion.
