October Wedding Abroad Suggestions

Hi All. Myself and my fiancé are hoping to get married abroad this October. I was wondering if anyone here has experience of getting married abroad anywhere in Europe or suggestions of where will still be safe.

We had looked at potentially Majorca and Malta but there seems to be a good chance of rain. Any suggestions appreciated.

I'd assume areas like the Algarve and south of Spain may be options also but any first hand experience would be great.

I know nothing about planning a wedding overseas but Lanzarote always gets my vote as a dry, warm location year round. Prices at that time of year should be good too for your guests.

Any nice areas you'd recommend? Was at a stag there a couple of years ago and wasn't a big fan of the area we were in. Think it was the main holiday resort.

A friend (of a friend) of mine got married in Nerja, Spain in October a few years ago - lovely weather, but cool in the evening and they felt they got great value. Plenty of flight and accommodation options for guests too.

I'm getting married in the Algarve on September 29th so practically October! It was 28 degrees there in 2016 on that date if that helps!

We tend to stay in the quiet part of Peurto de Carmen, up past the Casino. The old town gets manic but where we stay is lovely and quiet. There's loads of little towns around the island that would be picturesque.

I got married in early October in Casares, Malaga with reception in Benahavis. I was worried that it was getting colder, but it was a scorcher of a day. Only thing is though, the week before, the last weekend in September, there were floods, so we were so lucky.

There are no guarantees anywhere, but generally South of Spain would still be fine that time of the year.

Puerto Calero in Lanzarote is lovely, we stayed in the Costa Calero Hotel there. (It's about ten minutes from Puerto del Carmen but much much nicer, has bars and restaurants also). Think I saw a bride getting pictures taken near the pool one evening, thought it would be a fantastic venue.
