GP Certificate from other EU countries valid in Ireland?

    Hi,
I'm sick and got a certificate from the GP to show to my employer. That certificate expires today.
I'm from an EU country, so I came back home.
I had to go to doctors here in my home country and I still need to go more as I'm not good yet.
Are certificates from other EU countries valid, or what should I do?
    Thanks

Up to your employer to be honest.

They may question the fact that you were too sick to work, yet well enough to travel to another country?

I don't see how can they question....There are so many deceases that you can't work but you still put yourself into a plain.

Another problem is that it will be in another language, so how will they be able to understand it?

Lots of foreigners go home for both quality of treatment and first language reasons.

OP you'll need to ask your employer if the other language version is ok or if they want a certified translation.

Also if you want to claim illness benefit, youll have to ask welfare the same question.
