Hi folks this is for any Nissan mechanic that may be on site,

I have a 10 qashqai dci that has developed a fueling issue I think. Symptoms are slow to start but will after I hand prime it, also started to throw up esp and eml lights, drives fine when started, just wonder if this is a common fault? Cheers for any help

When was the fuel filter last changed?

When was the fuel filter last changed?

Did it last week and also changed the primer bulb as it had a hairline crack

By slow to start do you mean the cranking time is longer or the engine is cranking over slower, in which case how old is your battery?

Battery is fine, the car is turning over but only starts with a prime. Anyway with garage now so awaiting diagnosis.

    Genuine parts?
The engine doesn't take motor factor parts well, especially if in the fuel system and especially if it's a plug in/2 pipe unit as apposed to the basic 4 pipe version.

They can be a pig while the hand primer straight after the swap, it can take a fair few primes and starts before it will run reliably but we've never had a customer come in with an issue like yours after correct procedure.

Cian is right you need main dealer fuel filter with those engines otherwise you'll have those issues you've just described

+1^^ work colleague got his serviced by an indy and it was a pig to start afterwards. Genuine filter from Nissan and it was perfect.
