I've to transport lambs tomorrow night to the factory and they are averaging 48kgs. My question is how many will fit into the trailer as i don't want to set up the awkward top deckif i can help it?

Let us know how many you ended up getting in, curious to know, have a 10x5 here and ageing jeep, but often thought about a smaller trailer and tow bar on the car

Have a 8x4 here and absolute maximum really is 13. That extra 0.5 foot in width though should give you enough space for 14 or even 15.

Have a 7 x 4 single axel axle small trailer. Max is 11 lambs, which is a small enough number.

Anything bigger you'd quickly be into double axle and you have that option with the 10 x 5

We often had to put the 12 by 5 behind the puegeot 407 and now the Rav 4.
It's the same width as the car, it's not that hard pulled, the 6ftwide would be a different story

Ya, the 5ft does glide nicely behind a vehicle. Used to borrow a relatives 5ft 10 before and took getting used to. Awkward when the trailer wheels are wider then the vehicle.
Seperately anyone Use the 4ft High ifor ? Every now and again you'd see something like a 10x5 one. They look tidy behind a car or small van but don't know how easy loading / unloading is as you cannt climb into it ?

Well folks I loaded them up last night....i measured the trailer first 8x4.3 not 4.5. I put on the decks. Loaded 3 on top and i tell ya the eleven was a squeeze in the bottom. But i couldn't see fully into the bottom because of the decks. Thanks for the replies.

Sorry to bring up this thread again. Trailer needs replacing and looking at 8x5 with decks. Will be pulled behind car. Never mind legal towing limit for the moment.

How many hoggets would you put in one and is there enough space in the top deck for ewes?
