PayPal users please beware. There are currently fake text messages being sent to users stating that your account is under review and to please log
in using the provided link in order to verify your identity. Users are then requested to enter details
such as name, address and credit/debit card details.

I get emails on a daily basis to change my PayPal and PlayStation password by clicking a link. Always go direct to a website and log in if you think an account may have been compromised. Never go through a link in an email.

Aye, definitely what the poster above said. Plus you can usually unsubscribe from these types of unsolicited emails at the bottom of said email.

It was a once off occurence in my case, hasn't happened previously or since. Clearly an attempt at "phising".

Never unsubscribe from a spam or scam email. You're just confirming that the email is active, and you'll get even more spam.

Paypal / bank / credit card scam emails are nothing new, and they don't just go around from time to time. It's happening all the time. Every day, without fail. People need to be vigilant about their banking details all the time, not just when they hear of a scam that's currently "doing the rounds" for a particular service.

I once spoke to someone that had been scammed. Turns out they had recently seen a message on Facebook about an AIB scam message, but because they banked with PTSB, they didn't think it applied to them, and happily handed over their credit card number to a scammer.
