    Well folks, have vw golf here that won't start. the coil light isn't showing when turning car on?!

    WHat year, what engine and what is showing/not showing when you turn the key?

    Dead battery?

    battery was always fine even from being parked up for a while.
    Just when I turn the key now the coil light that usually comes on isn't anymore?!

    It's a 00 1.9 tdi. All lights are showing except the coil light that is usually there. It's turning but not firing

    There's a relay that fails. I can't remember the no. of it now.

    A quick Google might find it.

    I'm nearly 100% sure it's 109 relay piece after doing a bit of research so am going to try that.

    If you know someone with VCDS, try to get them to read the codes. It may help to point you in the right direction before you go spending money on parts you might not need.
