    Hi,
I'm off to Mayrhofen on Friday and although we've been there a good few times before, we've never done the Hintertux Glacier.
So it's on the plan for this year. Anyone done it before? Is it best to get the bus or taxi straight over or should we ski over to Eggalm?
I've been told that it's best to go on a clear sunny day. Is morning better?
    Any advice appreciated.

When we were there we just got the bus from Mayrhofen itself, it was about a 40 min journey.
It takes 2 or 3 lifts to get to the top so allow time for that too. Morning would be better to get the most out of it.
