Anyone here been there?I'll be there next month. Obviously no betting officially there . But are there any Irish or UK bookmakers operating in the bars there?

Yeah, a few. It is illegal and it is one place you don't want to get in trouble. It does seem a little bit acceptable on the track though. Last time I was there I used a vpn. However I believe this may not work anymore

They generally float around. I'd try avoid it as its illegal and I've heard of some of them not paying out.

The best way should VPN not work is load your account before you go and have someone log on and place your bet for you.

Its really not worth it, its the last place id like to be arrested in, not to mention chasing down a bookie in the bars seeking payment.

Great place, but be mindful of the culture, as western as it is the likes of walking around drunk or asking the wrong person how to get a bet on can have a serious outcome.

The betting generally happened in the hotels rather than the course itself where some Irish would stay, this is where the problem of the bookie not being around after the meeting for a payout. In the end he does not have to pay anyone out, does he?

I wouldnt even dream of placing a bet in any form over there just get somebody at home to place them for you.

Id book one of the packages if you havnt already aswell dont be tempted in by the free entry into general enclosure.

I work offshore and the rig blocks all gambling site so I use VPNMaster which is great

You could just do a bit of a pool with people you are with like odd numbers V Even Numbers with a sum on each race. Or every 3rd or 4th number as long as it's the same amount of horses.

Alot of these won't work in the UAE. I'm not sure, but maybe someone who has been there recently might enlighten us. I know stable lads last year had issues getting online

Can I ask did u buy it as a package or doing it all on ur own.dying to go so any tips or pointers on places to stay as flights would be appreciated.

Organised it myself for our family, 2 adults +2 teenagers. Flying on Monday, back on Saturday. Flights €400 each direct from Dublin with Emirates. AirBnB beach 2 bedroom apartment about €250 per night. Also going to the Tennis for a night.

The Bet 365 app worked fine at the races. It didn't work the previous night at the Tennis though. That Vypr thing didn't work at all. I don't even know what its supposed to do.
