Cars and Coffee North East on Sunday 5th Feb in Dundalk

Hi folks,

Sunday the 5th February at 10am (to 1pm) sees the first Cars and Coffee North East event take place in Dundalk at the carpark of the Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT) so come along with your sports car, classic car, vintage car or if you have something special then this is the place for you. This promises to be a great event!

It's worth noting that even if you don't drive a sports car, something special or a vintage it can be a good hour or 2 out to have a look at the metal on show.

When I used to go to cherrywood, I was surprised at the amount of people with kids just taking a wander around.

Not sure if there's a coffee shop nearby, so grab a tea/coffee on the way.

Coffee van will be on site plus there's the Crowne Plaza hotel right beside the car park (200metres) so you can also go there for tea/coffee/food and of course to use the toilets!

Is clashing with the established Dublin one not a bad idea for both events,they are not a million miles apart and lots of people up that way make the trip down.

I spoke to the people behind the one in Dublin and they are grand with it as they are now in Bray which is quite a spin from Dundalk plus we will have a lot of cars from N.Ireland as well as Louth, Monaghan, Cavan and Meath!
If we are to run this on a monthly basis it might be on the second Sunday of the month but that depends on how the first one goes and what people are telling us!

If the starter arrives for my AE86 I'll bring it down, otherwise it'll be the 530d.

Hopefully it's a good day although the clash with Bray surely doesn't help as a lot of northsiders head down to that.

Missed it due to sheer laziness and not having the car ready but looked like a great day considering it was only the first event and Dublin C&C was on the same day. Hopefully be bigger & better next time.

At one stage the place was packed, a truly great turnout for any meet, let alone the very first one.
