We recently came across a used oak bed that we are hoping to use. The finish on the bed is a bit worn and we are looking to rejuvenate it before putting the bed together (see photos for condition). Can someone give some advice on how to go about this?
    thanks

You don't want to turn it into a big job so I would just get a bottle of Rustins ' Finish Reviver' and follow instructions. Nice aroma as well.:D

It all depends how much time are you willing to invest, for a quick uplift few coats of similar color varnish may just do the job. Otherwise if the piece is high end you can sand it well all over to remover the varnish completely with up to 220 or even finer sand paper , choose your varnish color, coat it sand it coat it sand it for a 5-6 times? You may use some kind of top coating to finish it off too.
Trust me you wont recognize the piece after you finished ;)
