Any recommendations on tall, publicly accessible buildings in Dublin that provide a good vantage point for photos? So far I'm eyeing up the Croke Park Skyline tour and one or two rooftops of multi-storey car parks. Any tips appreciated.

Was just thinking of the Croke Park skyline for you but you've already got it on your list! What about the Guinness brewery, isn't there a bar at the top with big windows and good view? I've been meaning to get to it myself but don't seem to manage it any time I'm in Dublin :(

True, the gravity bar at the Guinness Storehouse has a great panoramic view, just have to avoid reflections from the glass since you're limited to taking indoor photos up there.

I'm actually thinking using a drone might be something to explore. Dublin isn't blessed with too many tall buildings, and it seems you need to have friends in high places to access most of the ones worth photographing from.

A drone in the city??? You'll almost never get flight permission for that.

Liberty Hall, Glasshouse in the Botanical Gardens, always try to get permission to walk on top of the GPO. The top of Dublin Castle is another location. The Convention Centre along side the Quays. A number of hotels in the cities are high enough to provide you with a good birds eye view of the city.

It's been done before based on a few YouTube videos out there, but I have no idea about the credentials of the authors and how they got permission...

Thanks for the tips! Is the convention centre ok with people strolling in to take photos from the higher floors do you know? I've also been looking at some hotels too, good idea there.

The top of the carpark at the at St Stephens Green shopping centre has a pretty good view for a place with unrestricted access. Not the tallest, but still handy.

The Marker Hotel has got a decent view of the Docklands. The convention centre is taller, but the glass obscures some views. Still a very good suggestion.

I'd go with the hotels as i am not sure about the Convention Centre but i dare say whatever you decide try clearing it with the staff. You are taking advantage of their view so might need to contact them. Best of luck.

If you now any Googlers get them to bring you on a "tour". Upstairs rec spaces have amazing views over the docklands and city.
