    Hi,

I'm looking for the best setup here to replace an APT timer & 4 zones.

    This is the current setup:

    407424.jpg

Timer controls a Firebird Enviromax Popular and I can control 3 zones and the hot water. (4 zones right?)
    There's 17 rads

I'd like to replace this with something a bit more clever. Looking at the Nests I think I'd need one per zone?

came across the Heatmiser Smartstat .

    Link - https://www.heatmiser.com/smart-thermostat/

It looks like a nice unit and has the bonus of connecting to Wi-Fi , so I can use my phone to turn the heating on / off .

Should it be a straight forward swap of units for a plumber? Just disconnect the APT and replace with the new one ? I'm handy enough so would attempt myself if a straightforward swap.

Thoughts? No real budget as such, just want what would be the best and maybe future proofing. (solar heating etc)

There's also a standalone stove in the living room if that makes any differece to the stat.

Have you got room stats at the moment? Basically what that unit does is replace your original wall stat. You'd need three, one for each space heating zone. Looking at that setup you have, you should look into the eph 4 zone wireless kit w/out valves. With this you'll have a wireless stat for each of your heating zones and for cylinder. It'll leave you with an actual time clock on your wall which can control all zones separately. Add the Ember gateway and you'll ave full control through your phone

    Hi,

No, no room stats. most of the rads have TRVs and that's about it.

Anywhere in Ireland stocks these do you know? Or a similair alternative?

    Never thought about wireless stats.

    Thanks!

I get mine through Heatmerchants but any good hardware should be able to source them. Last 4 zone one I got was between 800-900 but I'm guessing you already have the valves judging by those switches so you just need kit without valves. If house is pre 2006 you can get seai grant also but ud need a seai registered plumber to install
Download the app and use in test mode before you go ahead with it.
