friend has 2003 A4 2.0 TFSI petrol ( uk import) with about 140k miles up - aside from dent on a door its in good nick.
However the ECU is gone on it so its beyond economic repair , however mechanical part of engine is grand .

worth feck all in scrap but would it be worth their while putting it up on donedeal as being sold for parts ?

if so how much would you look for it ?

Who deemed the ECU a goner ? what happened it ?

Put it on donedel and adverts.ie with pictures and see what people are willing to give.
A non-running 2003 car isn't worth much when you can get a working car for less than a grand

Main dealer? I would seek a second opinion from someone with a good working knowledge of ECUs like Joe power etc.

not main dealer - new car already ordered so they are not going to go any further now.

Speculate to accumulate, pay someone a few quid to look at it and have a perfectly marketable car or try sell a car worth very little money that can't be driven away. People have too much money :D

So what value would you put on a 2003 A4 2.0 petrol, one running perfectly I mean.

The car is lying in garages yard they aren't going to pay tow truck to bring it some where else !
Please can we just assume garage correctly diagnosed it

My point was that even if it was running perfectly the value would be low.

Advertise it for a couple of hundred and see what happens.
