Catterick 3:05 - Top Taff the undoubted favourite, but as low as 1/5 is just a mental price for a novices chase, especially when you consider the previous race where it made plenty of mistakes over chasing debut. Aminabad from Ireland is only a few pounds lower on the ratings, has the experience over fences and should be able to take advantage if there's any slippage from the favourite. Best price currently 4/1, but I am going to be tight fisted and hold off for 9/2 or 5/1 in the early prices tomorrow.

3:15 at Lingfield looks like a cracker of a race altogether with a few in with decent chances. My eye can't help but be drawn to Eddystone Rock at 7/1. Last seen out in Ireland for Johnny Murtagh, it's been switched over to the John Best stable and given its first run out over the AW. Last race it ran at Tipperary is highly instructive, where it beat Laganore, a horse that has subsequently went on to much better things when compared to any of these other horses, winning a listed race. The only doubt on this is whether it can take to the AW surface (woeful enough record), but given the small field and the odds, I think it's a chance worth taking.

Surely everyone realises you'll always get way bigger in the win market on BF against a long odds on fav? Prob get near 8/1, already 7/1 there could even touch about 10 or near

I actually do this on occasion, but will never quote a BF price here.

For a start, that price often isn't readily available to people. Also it's possible to just lie about what value you got as there is no trace back. At least when I quote a traditional books price, it's something anyone can go onto oddschecker and verify.

Course there is just check the graph (if anyone is really arsed seeing what price someone claims to have got)

Backed three e w without the fav in the next at fairyhouse. Meades at 25s, Raveloe at 33s and Western Daru at 50s. Love that market

Strike is Back EW in the bumper for me. Codd up for the 1st time today. Think it was her run in Galway where she stayed on from a good bit back that had me thinking there might be 1 in her.

Anybody think that Jack Kennedy was very slow getting to work on the fav in the first in Fairyhouse and ended up leaving it too late? Admittedly, I did have him backed!

Haha 1.01 to follow the 1.07 in the first

Probably should got after him a bit sooner but he was beaten by a better horse in the end. The winner had already smashed the Gigginstown horse and just confirmed form.

If that was his aim he didn't do a very good job...

William hill radio had some e mails directly after 'how do we let him walk away and get away with this he is ripping off ordinary people'

'Time to open your eyes people he always falls at the final fence (probably doesn't know the difference between a hurdle and a fence. In fairness when I was 15 I didn't either)

That Keith Donohue boy is riding some stuff this season, looks as stylish as any of the big names over a fence.
