Hi, heading up North to look at some i30s on Friday. Are the dealers open to haggling or is it similar to England where there is very little movement on price.
Looking at a 2016 model and will try both cr morrow in Newry and saltmarines in Tyrone

    Thanks

No harm in asking. I don't think its as bad as the UK where you get 'the price is the price' when asking for straight sale price although I did manage to get £250 (whoopdidoo) of the price of my car after being told the price was the price.

In England, Scotland and Wales, the dealers recognize the Irish accent and won't budge on price as long as they know you're interested in a particular car.... Up north, I'd expect to get a discount for buying for cash(ie with no trade-in). So....haggle away...but be prepared to walk away. Any car dealer will jump at the chance to convert stock into pure cash so there tends to be some flexibility on price.

Discounts are generally nowhere as much as down here. Cars tend to be priced to sell. Especially if you're looking at the better value examples

Just after doing the same I ended up getting best deal from Dalys Falls Rd Main Hyundia Deal I tried the 2 you mentioned. I had a trade in. Didn't want the hassle of selling the Trade in myself. Got a I30 Se 161

Yeah Dublin Reg, Yeah some garages will. As usual you would probaly get more value selling it yourself. But I didn't want the bother. I had a figure in mind that if I got it I would buy. They came very close to the figure, and pulled the trigger.
