Programming a spare Cobra alarm fob/remote

Recently bought a secondhand with just the one Cobra 777b alarm fob (it's the one in the video below.) Bought a spare fob on Ebay, but it looks like I'm hosed without the original PIN to program it in. Anyone know what my options are?

Someone said on another forum that Cobra would reprogram fobs free of charge if you send in the unit and fobs, but that's a bit of bother. Is there some kind of pin/jumper trick to override the security?

(Video advice doesn't work by the way; looks like a special case, maybe post battery replacement or something.)

I reprogrammed one years back myself, I thought when I was doing it though I unlocked the car put the key in the ignition, turned the car to on, pressed both buttons on the alarm fob until the light flashes, then pressed the unlock or lock button on the fob.

Thanks, tried that, no dice though. PIN required I imagine. I've tried contacting Cobra but not heard back - there's not much in it for them to have people constantly mailing them, 'I bought a secondhand car, fix my alarm please.'

The one below worked for me:

    - remove battery from the fob
    - press both buttons 2-3 times
    - replace battery - LED should stay on
    - while sitting in a car - press bigger button twice.

The only alternative, I'm afraid, are cobra people themselves. ;)

Thanks chaps. Will have another play around before throwing myself on Cobra's mercy again.
