Which is cheaper to build 2 story or bungalow

    Hi we are looking into building our own house on my husbands parents land. We would not be building for about 3 years bug are looking into getting planning so we would be ready to go. I have heard that it's cheaper to build a 2 story as the roof on a bungalow is bigger so this will bring up the price. Is this true? Thanks in advance

    Roof and foundations are bigger on bungalow, so 2 storey can be cheaper.

    always 2 storey.

    bungalow has double the foundations and roof area

    The only hinderance you may have is the houses in the area if its out the country. Sometimes the council will require you to build a bungalow or maybe a dormer depending on the properties surrounding it or in the area.
