Hey All, we have a couple of old internal doors that have orange obscure glass panels. See photo. They both lead to rooms that are painted off white. At this point we can't afford to replace them- Any ideas on what colour we could paint the door to make them seen more modern?

You could replace the glass panes and I personally always love white doors and windows.

That was my first thought however we got a quote of 150 euro per door from a local guy..

Get the class cut from glass place and replace yourself. Its extremely simple to remove the bead around the glass and replace then put bead back on.

Glass should be small money, make sure its safe glass though for Door use.

If you don't change the glass l'd paint them a light grey in satinwood and change the handles if trying to make them look more modern .

I really like the 70s doors. You could either make them fresh and modern looking by painting them an off white along the cooler grey tones (stay away from a yellow based white), B&Q do a great line of paints called Valspar with a huge variety of whites. Or if you want to emphasise the doors and add a richness to them you could paint them a green like Farrow and Balls 'Card Room Green'. But whatever you do keep the brass handles, they are gorgeous and making a huge comeback!

Hollow core internal doors are only about 54 a pop in B&Q, you could re-fit the existing hinges / locks / hardware?
