Hope mods are alright with this.
So I'm moving out soon enough, and right now I'm going through my things over the next few weekends. I came across these old brochures, press shots and price lists that I used to collect and figured I'd scan a few in to share, and just to keep a copy digital copy of the good ones.

Most are from the 80s and 90s but a few are earlier. The scans mightn't be great, they're a bit fragile and I don't want to go bending and pressing too much in case I end up damaging them. They're a big mix between Irish and UK material

Anyway, like I said if mods are alright w a thread like this I'll throw a few up, if people want to see em? Heres a few anyway. If anything a thread like this will be a good digital book marker of sorts for my own looking.

Also scanned in, Toyota Price lists 1992 for commercial and passenger cars. Posted before I think in the Oldest car thread. Its great fun (again :o) putting the prices into an inflation calculator and getting today's value

I was always a fan of the Renault 21. I loved the straight lines and 3 box design. I remember driving a 2.0 GTX version in the early 90's. I was impressed with the speed and handling of the car and I was comparing it to the Nissan Bluebird ZX Turbo I had at the time which was a fairly potent car.

I've got some stuff on the ZX Turbo somewhere..

This is good stuff. It would be cool to make an archive as many of the brochures/spec sheets and all of the price lists will be specific to the Irish market.

I do like looking back at old prices and using them to calculate how much car prices have changed in real terms. By my calculations, a 2017 base model Toyota Yaris is at least 5000 euros cheaper in real terms than the Starlet in that list.

More than £27,000 for a turbo auto Supra. Now that was a lot of money in 1992.

One brochure I'd like to see is the Mazda 323. First car I remember my Mum having was a black 1989 323 saloon. Seemed like a tank to me.

That Toyota price list seems to be from the UK.

My parents sold a 3 bed house in leixlip for less than that in 1992. Today it'd be around 250K.

    Buy property, not cars

£27,174.32 in 1992 in the UK would be £51,608.33 in 2016 apparently

That is €60,839.52 in today's money here, or £29,731.04 in 1992...apparently

No idea if any of that is correct..

€60k for a landcruiser amazon is actually pretty good, obviously with the VRT you're talking closer to 90 , so its pretty much in line with todays prices.

Using the same method as above, the landcruiser works out at £30294.06

On the Toyota listing what is the road tax amount, is that a one off fee on the initial sale of the car or what the annual motor tax would have been back then? Seems very high for UK compared to current rates.

The old uk system before co2 (which came in in 2001) is £145 for under 1549cc and £235 for over 1549cc (today's rates)

If I knew years ago what I know now - I shredded tonnes of brochure/books for Nissan/Datsun/Merc/Saab/Honda when I was warranty team back in mid 90's

Very cool Duke, nice trip down memory lane flicking through those!

Jeez I remember one of my neighbours having a Nissan Bluebird in the late '80's. I thought it was the bees knees at the time and from what I recall they were really well kitted out - for it's day... electric everything, leccy sunroof... they even had an electric aerial :D
