Blown right up , is this a Shoveller? Or maybe an immature Mallard?

The first one looks like a female mallard (the violet feather under the wing gives it away, and the shape of the bill is not a shoveller's).

The other two are little greebes alright.

Both sexes of Little Grebe look very similar. The top one of your pics is just closer to being in breeding plumage than the bottom one which is typical winter plumage.

thanks for the info. My word those Little Grebes really are little.... took ages trying to get any picture at all...let's hope they are a pair and breed sucessfully.

I went out today to Fota island and found Little Grebe again (yesterdays were at my local park). No decent photos, but to my eyes it seemed there were two different sizes...is there a Fairly Little Grebe? :-) . Hard to see as they were out from the shore and diving a lot.
