Thinking of holidaying in the Algarve - gay scene ?

    Hoping someone might have info or experience of the Algarve as a gay holiday destination ? We're planning on going there late summer and would be glad to hear of others experiences there , best location to access gay scene etc - we're not really looking for a wild club scene etc , just maybe a few friendly gay/gay friendly bars to hang out in after after the beach etc.
    Maybe alternatives to the Algarve even ? We've holidayed in Sitges, Torre, Gran Canaria etc and perhaps now time to try somewhere new ? Any ideas ? (loved Torre by the way but have been back a few times now and hoping to go somewhere new ) . TripAdvisor , GayTravelEurope etc don't seem to have much by way of up to date / current info on the Algarve scene .

    I can't answer your question directly as I don't know anything about the gay scene in the algarve in particular, however having been to many holiday resorts similar to it, I can't imagine there being any difficulties for a gay couple anywhere in the algarve! 
    Now thats assuming you're a couple, perhaps you're a group of friends looking for a group holiday experience in which case , I don't think the algarve is a know gay party destination, but as a couples holiday it looks very pleasant. 
    I know many gay couples who go to Lanzarote, Malaga and I'm sure to Faro too, and all seem to be great destinations for couples.
