I'm looking for something around the €6k mark and given I'll be doing a few miles in an upcoming job (1 monthly 500k spin) and fortnightly 250k spins, the rest normal under 30minute spins to and from work. I'm looking for a diesel.

Admittedly I'm not in the know about cars and see the 08 Focus I'm looking has over 100,000 miles on the clock and just had a new timing belt installed, should I be slightly worried about these things?

Anything else to look out for in a car like this. Other cars suggestions welcomed All help appreciated.

I'd look at a Hyundai i30/Kia ceed over a focus. Much less chance of getting a lemon. No dpf DMF or timin belt. Just check it gets into gear/reverse easily as the pressure plate on the clutch can need doing around 120000 miles.

Nothing at all wrong with the 1.6 tdci focus in my opinion.

Put mine through the NCT yesterday and she passed first go.

I now have 27 months NCT and it is fitted with a DPF/DMF.

I bought the car in January 2016 with 91k on the clock, it now has 112k.

That is miles by the way.

    She's a UK import.

All I've had to do to that car apart from servicing is get the injector seals and bushes done.

    Any further questions ask away.

I done Cork to Dublin and back the day before Christmas on €35 worth of diesel, which is roughly 26 litres or there abouts.
