    Hi everybody,
I am looking to buy a van for a conversion, but I am of course short on money.

I found an ad of something I could afford and it's in Mayo (I live in Dublin).
Unfortunately I don't have any experience and I wouldn't understand anything.
As the van is quite old and cheap, the miles should be low.. but... ?
How can I move to find a mechanic in the area?
    Is it worth?

I have read about the aa doing inspections but it seems very expensive.
As I am looking to buy cheap I wouldn't want to pay a test for 400 euro to be honest.

Do you have any suggestion on how to find a mechanic and how much could it cost?

    thanks!
