Someone turned me on recently to a little known motoring youtuber, who I enjoy, and it got me thinking. There must be huge amounts of good stuff out there waiting to be discovered...

With that I thought I'd share my recent favourite motoring youtuber, post an example video, tell you what I like, and ask you to do the same:

I've picked SavageGeese. This guys style is dry and understated, but he can be funny all the same. He is a one man show and puts insane effort into his production. In one vid he claimed it takes him 10+ hours to edit a single video, so many are the cameras, shots he uses. All cars get put under a ramp, and he shoots the breeze about build, features, etc... with his mechanic buddy. Best part is he's middle aged, no annoying tweens here!

Wish we got the IS350 here, instead of the crappy 300H.

I've posted links a few times before but Regular Car Reviews always gives me a laugh.

Volvo 240 could be my fave, probably NSFW

Another vote for Regular Car Reviews

Also like Motor Week retro reviews

Jay Leno's garage is interesting too

B is for Build. Not really watching that these days

Mighty Car Mods. Again not into it these days as they've gotten more money and sponsorship etc.

Will get some slack for this, but I find myself watching Solomondrin most days on lunch, episodes are hit and miss but they have some serious metal and they're fun guys to watch.

I do enjoy some of Bob Flavin's stuff.

I'm really growing to like Vehicle Virgins. Its a channel that is progressively getting better IMO.

    Doug DeMuro - I know, I know :o

And this channel for old episodes of Top Gear from the 90s/early 00s.

I'm not really one for the Shmee-style vlogs about super cars. I have watched a few of Doug DeMuro's videos but his voice is a bit grating.

Aside from Bad Obsession and Mighty Car Mods I usually just watch the ones below.

MarekDrives - Car reviews in Polish & English. Nice and concise and a bit of humour in there. Good productions. If you liked Bob Flavin's reviews you'd probably like this.
Autogefühl - Based in Germany but with English reviews. Long detailed car reviews (30+ mins) with great detail. Ideal if you want to know more than your average review tells.
Jehu Garcia - U.S. based covering EV conversions, battery technology, classic VWs, cameras, photography, etc.
Robert Llewellyn's Fully Charged - U.K. based covering EVs, renewable energy, etc.

Shmee150, superspeedersrob (he's annoying though), the stradman, Mr JWW (another bell end but his Audi is savage) any of Arthur Tussik channels just to see death traps but my favourite is Jay Lenos garage. Also a few of the Russian car crash channels.

Only thing I've ever learned from his videos is that I shouldn't buy any Merc ever because they're all fun of expensive computers that will break.

And the weird way Americans pronounce "celica"

Polscy Kierowcy - Polish Dash Cam Videos.
    superspeedersRob - he's a douche, but a likeable douche.
Shmee150 - Got to meet him in person, really sound chap, like his cars and videos as well.
mastermilo82 - Crazy Dutch SOB. Built tonnes of crazy stuff, totally love it!
SaabKyle04 - I've been a subscriber since 2010. He's really come far since! I watch his videos from time to time if there's something interesting there.

The roadkill episodes of motor trend are unmissable for me, if you like American classics and the challenges from top gear of old you'll like this. The off roading fella isn't bad too.

Used to love superspeedersrob but he went down in my books when he started vlogging a few months back.

I've subscribed to dozens of motoring related YouTubers but I find myself losing interest very quickly, roadkill is the only one I've stuck with.

I like Autogefuehl. Presented by Thomas, a German vegetarian (has a thing about not having leather seats in luxury cars) total car nerd whose attention to detail is pretty obsessive. He's unintentionally funny when he gets excited too.

The fact that I like his show probably says I need to get out more.

I like Autogefuhl aswell. The episode where he reviews the RS7 has a great moment where he giggles like a school girl when he floors it in a tunnel. Really quality reviewer though, love the +40 minute reviews, he covers every square inch of the car.

Co-sign on the Seen Through Glass comments, a complete bell end.

    Bump Alert !!

I was reading the thread about The Grand Tour. A poster mentioned that car journalism has shifted to YouTube these days. I agree, some of the content being put out by the independent content creators is great. As this thread is a year old almost I thought it would be a good time to bump it and see who is out there at the moment.

My thoughts on some of the guys

SeenThruGlass - I really enjoy these videos. Yes the guy is a bit of a posh git, but the production on his videos is fantastic. In the past year he has grown in popularity and now gets a lot more access to manufacturers.

Doug De Muro - I enjoy these too, although most of his videos of late are doing reviews of cool or unusual cars lent to him by his viewers. He used to focus more on his own cars and the daily running of exotics which I miss.

Superspeeders Rob - Gone to cr@p lately. Just spends his videos talking rubbish. Very little car content. Spends most of his videos trying to sell you some sponsored cr@p like shaving kits and boxer shorts.

MRJWW - More money than he knows what to do with. Serious collection of exotic cars. Videos are well produced and I find him to be watchable.

Shmee150 - Cant watch him. Great car collection, but comes across as a ponce. Loads of fake excitement.

RoyalJordanian - Motorbike vlogger in London. Puts compilation clips of stuff that happens while driving.

Autoaddiction - Nurburgring clips. Loads of people crashing their cars. Painful, but fun to watch.

Jon Olson - Not a motor vlogger, he does a daily (or every second day) vlog. He is a big petrol head though and his cars usually feature. Google Jon Olsson cars. His most recent motor is a G63 AMG that he has supercharged to over 800 BHP. He had a couple of mental Lambos too. His missus is quite easy on the eye too.

Anybody else that you would recommend ?

Vehicel Virgins - not bad content, he has nice cars and uploads daily. Can be a bit vloggy at times and production is poor.

Stradman - nice channel to see billionares car collections.

Harrys Garage - Harry Metcalf, what more needs to be said, must watch as soon as its published.

Super Cars of London - reasonable.

TGE TV - he is funny and self deprecating for a chap with a couple of mil in super-cars.

    Mighty Cars mods - super

    The Smoking Tyre - Super

    Evo - super

    Drive - super

    Carwow - super

    So much choice....
