    1. There are Irish Water works taking place along O’Connell Avenue in Limerick, late at night, why is this?

    The Local Authority Roads Department are undertaking works outside of normal working hours, to minimise disruption to the area during the day. We apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing.

    Details of these works are published under the ‘Our Projects’ section of the Irish Water website. Click here to read more about the works themselves.

    Any future project works will be published on this page also, and all water supply disruptions are published on wtr.ie/Limerick & @IWCare.

    2. Can Irish Water provide information on the level of water hardness for Cork?

    As hard water has no associated health risks, we would not carry out tests for it and would be unable to provide information for Cork.

    If you would like to get your water tested to check if you have hard water, you can find a list of accredited testing facilities at www.inab.ie/Directory-of-Accredited-Bodies/Laboratory-Accreditation/Testing.

    3. Can Irish Water provide information on the level of water hardness for Crumlin, Dublin 12?

    As hard water has no associated health risks, we would not carry out tests for it and would be unable to provide information for Cork.

    If you would like to get your water tested to check if you have hard water, you can find a list of accredited testing facilities at www.inab.ie/Directory-of-Accredited-Bodies/Laboratory-Accreditation/Testing.

    4. Our water supply makes us feel slightly ill when consumed, can this be looked into?

    In order to look into this for you, please provide the following details via PM:

    - Your name;
    - Address; and
    - Contact number.

    Once we receive the above, we can then pass your query along for further investigation.

    5. I am a landlord and my tenants agreed to be liable for previous water charges, am I entitled to check if they have registered and paid all outstanding bills? Also, who would be liable when they move out, if water charges are re-introduced?

    If you would like to send us a PM with the address of the property and your own name, we can confirm if there is someone other than yourself registered at the property. However, we can't provide the names or details of those who may be registered, for data protection reasons.

    If the tenants of a property have registered their details with Irish Water, they are responsible for any bills owed for the period of time they lived at the property. We would advise that tenants contact us up to 10 days prior to their moving date so that we can update all details accordingly.

    As the landlord of a domestic property, you are obliged to contact Irish Water and provide the names of your tenants and the start date of the agreement you have with your tenants, to ensure that you are not held liable for water charges should your tenants remain unregistered with us.
