Cohabitation and Jobseekers Allowance

I am currently in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance. I receive €188 per week plus fuel allowance. My partner and daughter recently moved into my city council home. The rent has jumped drastically (as expected). My partner earns €350 per week (on average) and receives €50 maintenance for her daughter. Her eligibility for child benefit is currently under review as her daughter is no longer in full-time education. She has no other means.

I am wondering about how my payment will be affected. I have found most online information to be confusing so I would very much appreciate feedback on this.

If you add your partner and her child aged under 18 to your claim then your total JSA per week should be €138
You are obliged to tell SW that you are now cohabiting
I'm presuming your partner works at least 3 days per week

Yes, she's working five days. Thanks for the calculation. Quite a hit . . .

If the daughter is not in fulltime education then is she over 18 or working? If so, she should also be contributing to rent etc.

Well your combined weekly income will be €538 and your in means tested accommodation not subject to rent increases so it's not really a hit at all.
