Sorry if already posted already, but did anyone see this. This is plan for mixed use in the big portion of land on the left hand side of the clonsilla link road
Permission for a mixed use development on lands bounded by Clonsilla Road to the south, Clonsilla Link Road to the east and the residential development of Portersgate to the west, Clonsilla, Dublin 15.

The development will consist of the provision of 103 no. residential units and a local neighbourhood centre. The development comprises:

    (1) The construction of 67 no. two storey residential dwellings (45 no. 3 bed & 22 no. 4 bed dwellings) all with 2 no. car parking spaces,

    (2) 2 no. three storey apartment blocks comprising 36 apartments (12 no. 1 bed and 24 no. 2 bed apartment units) with 40 no. car parking spaces, 36 bicycle spaces and bin store,

    (3) 1 no. two storey commercial unit comprising 1,288 sq.m of retail convenience food store including off licence and ancillary services at ground floor; offices at first floor with associated elevational signage,

    (4) 1 no. single storey structure comprising 1 no. café and 1 no. retail unit with associated elevational signage,

    (5) 82 no. car parking spaces and 2 no. motorbike spaces to serve commercial development,

    (6) construction of new vehicular access and pedestrian access points off the Clonsilla Link Road, upgrade works to Clonsilla Road to include footpath and cycle lane,

    (7) landscaping, boundary treatments and 1 no. playground,

    (8) 1 no. ESB substation,

    (9) engineering and all site development works necessary to facilitate the development.

The planning app number is FW16A/0176 .

Its about time something was done about that plot of land.

What a great spot. Near all the amenities of Ongar and Clonsilla train station

It would be nice to see it developed

This came up at the FCC Area Meeting on 5 January. Start at 15m13s when Councillor Roderic O'Gorman speaks.
He is concerned that the the commercial unit would be for Aldi and the resulting traffic would not be suitable in the middle of an estate.

I doubt the retail unit will be for an Aldi as they already own a large plot of land in Clonsilla, I think they paid over €12m for the plot but have never passed the planning stage.

The original plan for the land was for a retirement home but that fell to the wayside. I think Fingal county Council tried to get this plot and the other section at the other end of the road designated as derelict a number of years ago.

Disappointingly small amounts of open space.

I hope that there is pedestrian access to the link road near "Public Open Space 3" (bottom right of PDF) and to Clonsilla Road from between the retail unit and the apartment blocks.

There are several clearly marked pedestrian accesses from the Clonsilla Link Road, including at Public Open Space 3, so it meets your hopes in that regard. There does not, however, appear to be the same on the Clonsilla Road. It may be an oversight or simply unclear, but on the other hand I could understand if it was deliberately left closed off as it could end up mainlining passing pedestrians through by virtue of creating a shortcut to the train station from the north and west of the development.

It certainly is unclear, though it might be totally open!!

Portersgate residents have gotten themselves very well organised and made a number of submissions. And they are all on the "same page"

The laneways behind the terraced houses is causing quite a stir. I understand why they are proposed and also why they are objected to. Changing to semi-detached would sort things out.
