    Hi Guys,

    Posting this for a friend, in for NCT today and got the dreaded news of an emissions fail on the above car.

    Failed on two parts of emissions;

    HC @ 597PPM / Pass 200PPM - FAIL
    LAMBDA @ 1.27 / Not between 0.97 and 1.03 - FAIL

    CO just about passed TBH - CO 0.19% - FAIL CO 0.20% - PASS

    Any ideas what to check? I said be best to pop it into a garage at this stage, I am fairly handy with cars but I don't have the systems to check emissions.

    Those figures (lambda leaned out to buggery, yet HC emissions through the roof) look like a badly degraded cat to me.

    That's what I was suspecting, coupled with a rattle from the direction from there aswell, sounds like its due a replacement, 200-215km on clock.

    Your friend would certainly need a decent garage to check why the engine is running so rich.
