I have an 02 polo and it's due for it's nct in march, a while ago the emmisions/engine management light came on and I scanned it and the fault is to do with the cat. I can kill the light for the test but will it have any chance of passing ?

Depends what you've been feeding the cat, how bad are his emmissions!?

Could be faulty O2/lambda sensor...probably cheap to replace...saving you the feline part of your car if I'm right.

It failed mine a few years ago. New(well secondhand) cat in and bobs your mother's brother it passed.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
