Hey guys ! Good day to you all, hope you're all having a wonderful 2017 so far :)

Now, I am a 22 year old student and I am interested in finding a job aboad this summer, preferably somewhere in Europe. I am studying IT & Business Management and should have a Level 6 at the end of the academic year.

I would love to work abroad, somewhere where it's warm, but I'm really not interested in anything to do with being a rep in a place like Magaluf or Santa Ponsa. I am willing to do anything at all, whether it be cleaning or any manual work, i dont care as long as I get paid and get to spend the summer away.

I have been searching the internet for hours over last few days but I am struggling to find anything that would apply to me :(

has anyone got any suggestions ? Or maybe some programs i should look up ?
    Thanks in advance

I was in a similar position for last summer. After studying abroad for a year, I didn't want to spend my final summer as a student in Ireland, either in an office doing an internship (I can work 9-5 for the rest of my life), or continuing to work in retail. Similarly I didn't want to work in a bar or as PR, and after being on holidays in Kavos I didn't want to go to the really crazy places.

Anyway I ended up stumbling upon a place called Starbeach, which is in Crete, applying for a job on their website, having a Skype interview and knowing that I had a job, accommodation, and a support network before I went out to the island. They have a lot of different roles, typically you don't really "make money," you get paid and its enough to live off (cost of living is really low, you get a lot of discounts for being a worker, get to know the bar/club/restaurants staff and they give you free drinks and deals).

    Suggestions:
-I don't know a lot about them, but a lot of people worked in big hotels, if you're sporty you can get into animation/entertainment. Look at the vacancies pages of big hotels/chains. Or reps with holiday companies, like Thomson although theres not many of them based in Ireland now.
-I found you have to have more specific searches rather than "work abroad summer job" etc as that mainly shows you the companies that run packages, i.e. we give you your first months accommodation, help you with a sim card/NIE number and help you find a job, in return for hundreds of euro. I've heard bad things about them, anyway they mainly "help" you find a bar job which you could easily get over there, although they may possible be helpful if you're going out late in the season. Look up specific towns one at a time while searching, do you want somewhere that still has good nightlife although not a major party town, do you want somewhere small etc. For example, I worked in Hersonissos, while it used to be a major destination for young Irish, now theres only one small apartment complex that an Irish travel operator goes to. It is mainly young Dutch, along with a mix of many other nationalities and some families. Malia is €20 away in a taxi, and that is the "boozy Brits" destination.

Hopefully some of this information is helpful. I found I really did need to be proactive, but having put a bit of time into research, I had the best summer of my life! I wasn't earning as much as I would have been back home, but I'd say I broke even on the whole summer. But it was really all about the lifestyle, which was amazing, and you become so independent. I'd encourage anyone to go for it. Sorry this is so long!

Any questions feel free to PM me.

Do you speak any languages OP?

Are you a girl or a lad? The au-pairing type jobs tend to appeal more to girls (and it's easier for girls to get placed.)
