Dairy Salt

    Hi,

    I see this type of salt mentioned a lot in Ballymaloe recipes for making homemade bread, butter etc.

    What is the common name for this salt in a supermarket ? It's not table salt but similar in texture without the additives.

    Seems it is used in producing dairy stuff, and is just fine salt with no iodine or starch. Iodine is rare to see in salt here, the more expensive salts will have no starches, which would be minimal anyway, just to stop it clumping.

    You can stick it in a blender to get it finer. I put regular salt in a ninja blender, came out like powder, I have it in a separate jar, I like it for chips. I also used it in bread as I liked the idea of it being a very fine powder throughout.
