Recruitment agencies

Hey guys. I've never used an agency before so this is all new to me. I'm coming across various jobs that interest me but they're all posted under different agencies. What I'm wondering is whether it's a good idea to register with ten different agencies or is it best to just register with one?

I'm just not sure how to play this one the 'right' way.

Based in Dublin if that makes any difference.

    Thanks.

I feel that a lot of the recruiters have all the same jobs so a lot of them will be telling you about the same roles, I am looking for an accounting job at the moment, I see a job spec on their website, send in the CV and then might see a different spec on a different website apply for that as well, then the next day they ring and they explain its for the X company. Then I would get another phonecalli and they explain its for the same company. As companies do use a few different recruiters, they like to shop around.

Which I am at the moment, I sent in my CV to many different recruiters, some got back to me and couldn't offer me anything as I had already applied for the jobs which they had to offer to me and others are a dead end. My advice would be apply to as many jobs as you think is suitable, see which recruiter gets back to you, some are more helpful with others. I usually pick the most optimistic and friendly ones. At the moment I am dealing with two recruiters and I applied to many but a lot of them gave up on me after I said that I had applied to what they had offered me, some will go over and above to help you.

I hope this helps, best of luck with the job search.

Since starting looking for a job for the first time a few months ago i have found that the more you apply for the better when it comes to job hunting, including applications to recruitment companies.
i agree that you will find that many of these jobs are duplicates between different recruitment companies.
