Hasn't the ix35 been replaced by the Tucson? Is it the ix35 or the Tucson?

Also how much diesel it costs someone else has very little bearing on how much it will cost you unless they are matching your driving distance and style. Being 1.7 litre I cannot see it drinking diesel unless you drive the $hit out of it or use it mostly around town.

The cost of diesel per week will depend a fair bit on how how much you drive it.

OEM hankook tyres should be €120~ ish a corner and ix35s can be fond of them, but even that boils down to driving style.

The current Tucson was released for 161, but you'd still see a few 161 ix35s.

On average we will be driving approx 160km per week . Hearing different stories on how much fuel you will use.

I know somebody who had a few i40's in a 1.7 diesel and found them all very heavy on diesel. Mileage tracked on fuel cards etc so it was being kept an eye on.

It'l vary depending on whether you chose a 2wd or 4wd model too.

I'd expect mid 20's around town, high 30's motorway from the 2wd and probably less from a 4wd.

160km a week is tiny, sure €30 would have you well covered?

If you are only doing 160km a week should you even be buying a diesel.

It will be up to 220/260 km some weeks .
I love it but just want to make sure its economical for us.

The ix35 was replaced by the Tucson in 2016 so a 2016 ix35 Executive would be one of the last models before it was replaced. Make sure it's substantially cheaper to buy than a 2016 Tucson as it will have a lower resale value to a similar Tucson in a couple of years when you go to sell it. Plus point is that any early bugs or faults should be well ironed out by the time they stopped making it.

We bought a 131 hyundai ix35 AWD New. In 3 and half years its been in the garage 20 times for repairs. It honestly the worst car I have ever owned. Everything was replaced under warrenty but it spent more time in the garage than at my house. Hyundai are awful when you have problems and keep passing the buck to the dealer. The paint peeled off the back panels. It got resprayed. Steering wheel was replaced. Camera was replaced 4 times and rewired and reversing switched replaced on gear stick. Leather perished on driver seat. New one was ordered. The biggest thing to go was the 4wd system which was replaced. The car always pulled slightly to the left from new and I was told its common for this to happen. The fuel economy is awful and nowhere near whats advertise. Also everytime the car was in for repair hyundai refused to give me a replacment. On 2 occasions it was in the garage for 3 days leaving us very stuck for work and school runs. I have luckily bought a toyota and got shut of that heap of junk. This is just my experience and my opinion so you make up your own mind.

Not in a new car. I bought 3 new toyota's before that hyundai. The only time the toyota was in the garage was for a service and tyres.

The customer service from hyundai or lack of it was probably the most worrying part. They are on a high at the moment with massive car sales but it won't last if there is no backup when things go wrong. Word of mouth and facebook are very powerful.
