Do you want/need 4wd? Availability on the Kodak might be an issue.

Well then forget the x trail. It's only available in 1.6 diesel.

    There's a 2.0 175bhp option coming imminently AFAIK.

That would be a fine machine.

€390 tax on the 4wd 2.0 (the bit that matters!)

First I've heard about it, we don't have a 2l diesel in anything else in our range either. They like to keep these things a secret. :pac:

The 1.6 is a strong enough motor, it comes with 4WD but I still don't think it's the best option.

The new Navara is worth a look though. Every bit is comfortable on the inside, huge load space and will be s much better towing vehicle.

Yes a 4x4 would be great

Would the Kia Sorento be worth a look??

OP, you advised people in another thread here to avoid French cars. You do know that the Nissan X-Trail has a Renault diesel engine right?

    They're €44k ex works for a 7 seat 4wd though.

Hyundai Santa Fe an option? Imagine they'd be a solid car. Hyundai really taking off here in Ireland. Love my i30. Plenty of power in her.

    Ok thanks for that.

    +1 for kia sorento

My boss got a new one (as a company car) but uses it for driving his family around, he has 4 kids (think he went with the 7seater option)
Loads of space in it and has some power in it as well.
Never even thought of a kia when buying a car but his is that nice im thinking of getting myself one next year.
