I think this is the end of the road for the Steelers, but glad that they get the chance to have another go after the regular season game which was no contest.

The AFC Championship game looked a very long way off then.

I fancy the two home teams to win, both are very balanced and don't have to depend on any receiver or rb on offense. If they both win it'll be very hard to call who'll win the Suoerbowl.

Would really love to see a Brady Rodgers SB.

The Falcons should have too much for the Packers. They are just better across the board, and Ryan is playing lights out to boot.

I think the Pats D will be good enough to take away one of the two Bs, which should be enough to give them the edge.

I think the Cowboys will win comfortably in the end. They are better across the board.

Thanks man your our good luck charm. I think it will come down to whoever has the ball last or first to 40 wins. we put 32 points on Atlanta with cobb, monty and cook out and Matthews, randall and rollins were out on defense.
Any time BB is faced with an opponent with offensive weapons like bell and brown, he nearly 90% of the times takes that away. Pats win in low scoring game.

I was definitely surprised that the Cowboys didn't impose their running game more. Going to be some shoot out in Atlanta, can't wait.

A Packers and Patriots/Steelers Super Bowl sells itself and I'd say the NFL are praying for it. I'll be keeping an eye out for any dodgy calls in Atlanta. While it makes for a great Super Bowl based on this season and the regular fans, Atlanta isn't a big market and might not rope in as many casuals as a game between 2 storied franchises.

Well that would be nice considering some of the bullsh*t calls we got in Jerry world on Sunday.

Roger Goodell's going to the Atlanta/GB game. I wonder why he chose that one and decided to skip a trip to Foxborough.....

Why would he be worried about the cold he would be in a private suite with food drink and heat. They do have heating in the stadium :D

    WOW

    Steelers suspend Brown.
PITTSBURGH, PA – Rather shocking news comes out of the Steelers Tuesday, who are reportedly going to suspend star WR Antonio Brown one game for his decision to film inside the Steelers locker room following this weekend’s win versus the Chiefs, capturing coach Mike Tomlin’s postgame speech

Should be two great games at the weekend!

Could be a huge shootout between Packers and Falcons;, that could be 49:50 to the winner!
Rodgers merits another SB win. A guy that good shouldn't finish his career with just one SB ring. He's playing great at the moment and the Falcons D has a huge job on their hands. Matty Ryan will probably be MVP, and they look loaded with options on offense; and I wouldn't begrudge him a SB win.

Brady has a chance to go to his 7th SB (in 18 seasons, ridiculous) while Ben is lining up a shot for a 3rd ring. For the Pats it'll probably be about containing Brown and Bell (easier said than done), while for the Steelers it'll be about getting to Brady and forcing the mistakes the Texans created (cause the Steelers will punish those errors).

If the Pats lose, I probably won't care about the quality of either game :P
But it should be two great games. I hope so, cause there's only three games of football left :(

Ladarius Green surprisingly listed as questionable having only Limited Practice on Wednesday and Friday and being allowed to talk to the media. Almost no chance of playing, but would've been great to have him as another target, he was hugely effective in the few games he did play.

Really looking forward to this game now, should be a cracker. And after today we can all look forward to two weeks of annoying hype for an often disappointing game, punctuated with such joys as the After Hours Super Bowl thread, discussion of the half time show, and people who say "I just watch it for the ads". And then the abyss of the offseason... So hopefully we get some enjoyable games today!

    Okay Prediction time.

GB vs ATL. I think we could get a high scoring game here, with Atlanta going to the SB. They just have too many offensive weapons, and with home advantage, the last game at Georgia Dome, I think they will take it.

NE vs PIT. I will go with a win for Tom Brady's men, Although I anticipate a tough battle Big Ben, Brown and Bell. They have a chance, but it will have to be all on top for to win. Patriots to the SB

I'll say two tight affairs, both underdogs could easily cover (currently at +6pts), Packers/Falcons high scoring and Steelers/Pats lower scoring, with two home wins. Sadly, I think this is where the table ends for GB, all the injured guys that have been greenlit helps (Burnett especially) but Atlanta just have too much on offense right now :( . Real game where Sam Shields at CB could have made the world of difference.

So long as GB go down swinging I'll be satisfied!

It is, because we know for a fact that whenever we get the lead back our defense just gives it right away again. And Scott Kacsmar is right, Aaron Rodgers is just useless on defense.

Yeah, it just annoys me when stats similar to that is used as a stick to beat Stafford with for his poor record against winning teams. It seems sometimes the media seem to forget that it is a team game.

Well, there's our first injury on the opening kickoff. Burnett's backup, and now Burnett is going to get injured again...

    At least he's standing.

Going for an Atlanta win here. Just think they have the better defense and should be able to stop Rodgers a bit more.

Hopefully a close and high scoring game.

It's mainly because QBs sell the clicks most, and because a lot of NFL coverage is just unbelievably lazy.

I don't think there's a way both Rodgers and Dan Quinn can win... but I'm still trying to figure it out...

Don't really care too much about the NFC Championship winner, but if pressed it would be nice to see a new team in the Superbowl, so I'd edge towards the Falcons.

I just hope that the Steelers win in the AFC, I can't stand the Patriots in general and having to listen to another two weeks of media adulation about Tom Brady and BB would be my definition of hell, though it would make it easy to decide who to support in the Superbowl.

So its Atlanta v Pittsburgh for me.

As good as Rodgers is playing, I just think Falcons have too many pieces on offence. Impossible to stop them all

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,306 ✭✭✭CardinalJ

Azazing to see what a real QB can do having watched Brock and the rest of the AFC south for most of the season! Haha

I think tonight we say goodbye to the Packers. Their defence was poor last week and the Falcons have the fire power to finish them off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Well that was pretty easy for the Falcons. Very impressive drive, displaying all their weapons.

Yep. I was hoping Atlanta would get a field goal to start the game, had that video lined up for it and everything. Was actually a little disappointed it was a TD.

He can pass anywhere before the line of scrimmage, where the play begins.

Well as a Bears fan, it's nice to see you have something to care about come January. :D

Packers NEED to establish the run early tonight, in my opinion.

Edit: 30 odd yard passes to Jordy will do too, though.
