recovering or reupholstering 3piece suite

Anybody have any ideas re diy covering old 3piece suite or recommendations for professional upholstering Dublin area. It's an old Reid's suite,well built and in good condition but I'd like a different appearance. Has anyone successfully covered their own furniture?

It's an old Reid's suite,well built and in good condition but I'd like a different appearance.
