    Hi,

Is there a decent tyre house in & around stepaside where I can buy close to new or partly worn reasonably priced tyres for my Yaris?

Also, somewhere I can buy windscreen wiper blades as well near the same location?

    Thanks!

Yaris tyres are cheap new usually. There isn't as much value in buying used ones for cheap sizes IMO

Then again if you're on a budget it might make sense. Don't know anywhere sorry.

    whats your budget ? . . . . how many tyres.. 2 wipers or 3 ?

as Colm said , yaris tyres arent that expensive. maybe buy online and have them fitted for about 10e a corner.

Wipers: online at micks garage etc.. fit them yourself

What about Halfords in The Park, Carrickmines to get the wipers? Only 10 mins from Stepaside...

Oh, and go new for your tyres, plus I'd say also go local, not internet. Not worth the hassle for small size tyres like a Yaris....just my view.

Halfords are expensive for wipers. A motorfactors would be a better bet.

I'm just down in sandyford and I can do either part worn or new, as said already you might be better off paying a little extra for new ones.
Do you know size tyre is on it?

Thanks guys. I got the tyres and wipers from a place near by (well known place) - although now I think given the choice again, I will opt for Halfords as I'm not very happy with the service and products of the tyre centre, let alone the high prices!

I wouldn't hold my breathe. They can be hit or miss and cheap is generally not something you would associate with them.

A few years ago I bought a pair of wiper blades in Halfords Carrickmines. I consulted the ring binder catalogue on the display rack, found my make, model and year, the catalogue said I should buy code 'xxx' wipers which I did.

Went home, tried to fit them and they were clearly the wrong size. Drove back to Halfords at a quiet time of the week, got parking right outside the front door and went inside. Explained my problem to the girl on the cash desk, she pointed to one of her male colleagues who was a few steps up a stepladder packing a shelf or adjusting some display. Told him my problem, mentioned that my car was right outside and would he like to help me out to see if the wipers were the right or wrong size or my car.

His response? Go back to the cash desk, get a refund and basically (unspoken) p1ss off. This is one of the drawbacks of a 'no quibble' returns policy, it allows the staff to hand you your money back so they don't have to lift a finger to help you.

Since then I always buy blades from Mick's Garage, they're genuine Bosch, I can fit them in seconds and they're excellent quality.
